(LLCT) - During the renovation process, independence, autonomy, diversification, and multi-lateralization frame the consistent foreign policy of the Communist Party of Vietnam. This policy has created a high level of consensus among the entire Party, people, and army and has gained support from the international community. Due to the implementation of the Party’s appropriate foreign policy, the work of foreign affairs and international integration has made significant progress, making a worthwhile contribution to the country’s historic achievements over the past 30 years.

(LLCT) - After 30 years since the 1986 renovation when Vietnam changed its policies, including foreign affairs policies, Vietnamese Party and State has led the country to overcome the embargo and become an active country in the global stage. The open policy has helped Vietnam to quickly integrate with countries in the region and around the world. It can be said that Vietnam has never had broader relations as it does today, when it has established diplomatic relationship with 187 out of 193 member states of the United Nations, built a net of strategic partnerships with 15 countries and comprehensive partnerships with 10 other countries. 

(LLCT) - As a member state of CESCR, Vietnam commits to respect and ensure all rights recognized in the document, including the right to an adequate standard of living. According to the 1991 and 2011 Political Platforms, and other Party documents written during the Renovation period, economic reform has been identified as the focus. Hunger eradication and poverty reduction should be promoted within the guidelines of combining economic growth with social progress and equity throughout the development process.

(LLCT) - Recently, some Western researchers and Vietnamese Party members have stated that Marxism and Leninism are outdated. They claim that in this day and age, we cannot build a good new society with prosperous people and a strong, democratic, equal and civilized nation based on those outdated theories.  We must consider several questions: Is Marxism - Leninism outdated in its theories applying to scientific significance and practical social goals? If the answer is yes, what are the reasons and foundations? If the answer is no, why can it be?

(LLCT) - Since the 1980 Constitution, the National Assembly was organized following a socialist model with three functions: “exercise constitutional and legislative power, decide significant national affairs, and exercise supreme control over all activities of the State”. These three functions are still enshrined in Article 69 of the 2013 Constitution and other current legal instruments. 

(LLCT) - Over the past 30 years, much progress has been made in ensuring the freedom of press and speech in Vietnam, in terms of both quantity and quality.

(LLCT) - In Vietnam, politics have long been a dominant influential factor within the country’s leadership and management. It seems that the science of leadership and management has determined its own goals, research methodology, and theory, and does not have the same necessary independence that political science (politics) does. Meanwhile, in developed countries, researchers on leadership and the science of success have already been studying this field at multiple universities. Therefore, we must admit that we have been left behind in this field. 

(LLCT) - The phrase “non-traditional security” was first mentioned in the 1980s and was commonly used in the early 21^st century. It has become one of the most popular terms used in regional and international conferences and bilateral and multilateral cooperation forums.

(LLCT) - The world will keep seeing unpredictable changes. The road to sustainable development in each country is not smooth; so is the Vietnamese - Indian strategic cooperation. However, this cooperation will be successful if both countries make great efforts and seize development opportunities.

(LLCT) - During the renovation period, the Party has always paid special attention to comprehensive advancement of the Vietnamese in order to meet demands for sustainable national development. However, in the context of increasingly profound international integration, the Vietnamese people still have some limitations, which require the Party to introduce policies and solutions to overcome them soon.
