The worldwide historical mission of the working class: Sustainable value and some issues to be supplemented and developed in accordance with the current context in Vietnam

(LLCT) - To discover the worldwide historical mission of the working class is one of Karl Marx’s three great discoveries, the concentrated manifestation of the scientific and revolutionary values of Marxism, and the most important theoretical basis for socialist-oriented development in the world and in Vietnam. Since the Communist Manifesto (the first work which condensely presented the theory and historical mission of the working class and their practical activities) was published in 1848, Communist Parties and progressive peoples around the world have affirmed the sustainable values laid out in the work and provided new data to supplement and develop some theoretical points made by Karl Marx on this issue.

Organization of the political system’s apparatus: The central issue in building a fast and sustainable developmental regime in Vietnam

(LLCT) - If a developmental regime is considered to be the official and unofficial rules stipulating the operation of elements to achieve the purpose of developing the nation, the political regime clearly plays a central and decisive role in its function. A political regime has organic association with the apparatus of the political system, and both the former and the latter become the conditions and premises of each other. The political system’s apparatus is the subject which builds, improves, and operates the developmental regime, of which the political regime is first and foremost. In turn, the political regime stipulates and contributes to the development and improvement of the political system’s apparatus. On this assumption, this article is composed with a desire to explain the roles, positions, meanings, real situations, issues, and solutions to further streamline the political system’s apparatus - a significant factor for the political regime in particular, and for the regime which ensures the fast and sustainable development in the current context.

Global concept of teachers’ status and improving the status of teachers in Vietnam

(LLCT) - In order to improve the quality of education and training, a correct conception about teachers' status and the institutionalization of the conception into the regulations plays an important role, which has an impact on the quality of education in many countries. Global and Vietnamese concepts of teachers' status share many similarities while possessing many differences as well. Vietnam needs a synchronous solution to continue affirming and raising teachers' status (regarding remuneration, salary, education - training, and working environment) to contribute to fundamental and comprehensive reforms of education and training.

Promoting the affect of property and income declaration in fighting against corruption

(LLCT) - Fighting against corruption is an activity of great concern for all nations in the world. In Vietnam, the fight against corruption is prioritized by the Party and the State in all viewpoints and guidelines as well as institutionalized in all policies and laws in accordance with the tendency of the age and national development. In the anti-corruption regime, the Party and the State have implemented many solutions, including property and income transparency; however, in reality, there are still many shortcomings in the implementation of these policies. This article mentions the current laws and regulations and puts forward recommendations on property and income declaration so that they can be more effective and efficient in corruption prevention and combat.

Manifesto of the Communist Party and the orientation value for the transitional path to socialism in Vietnam

(LLCT) - It has been 170 years since the Manifesto of the Communist Party was born. The value of its theoretical points has remained unchanged up to now. The country on the path to socialism can apply it creatively in accordance with its specific conditions. For Vietnam, the chosen transitional path to socialism is oriented and lightened by the Manifesto and Marxism - Leninism. The vitality of the Manifesto is the constant inspiration which requires us to supplement and develop the theory of socialism and the transitional path to socialism in Vietnam in the new context.

Working on ethnic affairs in Vietnam in the current period

(LLCT) - During the renewal process of our country, the Party and the State have attached great importance to dealing with the ethnic affairs and have achieved remarkable results in many fields, including economics, politics, cultural-societal, and national defense-security; however, there are still many obstacles and shortcomings in the daily goal of assisting our ethnic minority countrymen. Therefore, it is necessary to continue implementing multiple different solutions in order to effectively deal with ethnic affairs, contribute to the consolidation of national unity, ensure political stability, and increase resources for the sustainable development of the country in the new period. 

President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnam - India friendship

(LLCT) - The friendship between Vietnam and India is rooted in similar plights of colonial rule, in the struggle for independence and freedom, and in many shared values and benefits in the building up and protection of the countries. The friendship in the modern era was founded by two outstanding leaders of our nations, President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister J. Nehru, beginning in the 1950s. Continuing that good relationship, succeeding generations of leaders of the both countries have consistently tried to cultivate, strengthen, and build a comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, including economics, politics, diplomacy, security, defense, culture, and education.

Launch of Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index 2015

(LLCT) - On the 12th of April 2016, the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP), the Centre for Official Fostering and Scientific Research (under the Fatherland Front of Vietnam), and the Centre for Community Support and Development Studies, launched Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2015 in Hanoi. In attendance of the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, H.E. Ms. Beatrice Maser Mallor, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, and Ms. Pratibha Mehta, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Vietnam.

A nation's power includes not only its hard power (geographical - population, economic, military factors) but also its soft power (political institution, ideology and national strategies (state leaders), and the will of the people in implementing strategies, social values, international relations). Therefore, the study of a country’s soft power should be taken under overall consideration of its comprehensive power.
