Economic growth together with improvement of people's life: Theory and practice in Vietnam

(LLCT) - In order to improve people's living standards (PLS), in addition to the economic growth, the regulation on distribution of economic growth results by the government plays a very important role. In recent years, the achievements of economic growth have contributed to improving the quality of people's lives, however, there have been many challenges that require the Government of Vietnam to take specific and appropriate measures to ensure both promotion of economic growth and improvement of people's living standards.

Building a contingent of leaders and managers at provincial political schools

(LLCT) - Provincial political schools play an important role in training and fostering cadres for the grassroots political system. In order to fulfill their assigned functions and duties, the management of provincial political schools needs to be built in a comprehensive manner. Over the past years, the Party Politburo, Secretariat, provincial Party committees have issued important guidelines and policies to build up this contingent of managers to meet the requirements of each period.

Improvement of Vietnamese small and medium enterprises competitiveness in international integration

(LLCT) - In recent years, small and medium enterprises in Vietnam have made important contributions to the economic development of the country. In particular, they account for over 40% of GDP, creating jobs for 62% of the total national labor force etc. However, they still retain limitations, such as low capital, low level of management, use of manual laborers, outdated production technology lines, or lack of competitiveness. Therefore, to enhance their competitiveness, it is necessary to create a favorable business and investment environment; support them in innovation, creation, modernization of technology and development of human resources; boost labor productivity; improve the effectiveness and efficiency of State management, and so on

Manifesto of the Communist Party and the orientation value for the transitional path to socialism in Vietnam

(LLCT) - It has been 170 years since the Manifesto of the Communist Party was born. The value of its theoretical points has remained unchanged up to now. The country on the path to socialism can apply it creatively in accordance with its specific conditions. For Vietnam, the chosen transitional path to socialism is oriented and lightened by the Manifesto and Marxism - Leninism. The vitality of the Manifesto is the constant inspiration which requires us to supplement and develop the theory of socialism and the transitional path to socialism in Vietnam in the new context.

Influence of the press on people’s awareness of Vietnamese sovereignty over the sea and islands

(LLCT) - Providing information and communication on national sovereignty in general, Vietnamese sovereignty over the sea and islands in particular is one of the important tasks of our national press system. In fact, press agencies from central to local level have done quite well. For better results, it is necessary to have an annual system of innovative solutions concerning both content and methods, ways of communicating information to each subject, time and topics. On that basis, this would lead to solutions to improve the effectiveness of information and communication of the press on our national sovereignty over the sea and islands.

President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnam - India friendship

(LLCT) - The friendship between Vietnam and India is rooted in similar plights of colonial rule, in the struggle for independence and freedom, and in many shared values and benefits in the building up and protection of the countries. The friendship in the modern era was founded by two outstanding leaders of our nations, President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister J. Nehru, beginning in the 1950s. Continuing that good relationship, succeeding generations of leaders of the both countries have consistently tried to cultivate, strengthen, and build a comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, including economics, politics, diplomacy, security, defense, culture, and education.

Launch of Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index 2015

(LLCT) - On the 12th of April 2016, the United Nations Development Program in Vietnam (UNDP), the Centre for Official Fostering and Scientific Research (under the Fatherland Front of Vietnam), and the Centre for Community Support and Development Studies, launched Vietnam Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index (PAPI) 2015 in Hanoi. In attendance of the ceremony were Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, President of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, H.E. Ms. Beatrice Maser Mallor, Ambassador of Switzerland to Vietnam, and Ms. Pratibha Mehta, Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Vietnam.

A nation's power includes not only its hard power (geographical - population, economic, military factors) but also its soft power (political institution, ideology and national strategies (state leaders), and the will of the people in implementing strategies, social values, international relations). Therefore, the study of a country’s soft power should be taken under overall consideration of its comprehensive power.
