Abstract: At the 13th Congress, the Communist Party of Vietnam, for the first time, affirmed the promotion of religious resources. A discourse on promoting “religious resources” discusses the social functions of religions and their contributions to social and human development. Religions’ involvement in social works is encouraged by governments; however, the extents to which religions are involved depend on each country. The way religious resources are used and promoted depends on societies’ objective contexts and conditions and the subjective will of governments. The article discusses the promotion of religious resources and the related issues in using and promoting religious resources in Vietnam today.
