Abstract: The development of renewable energy is considered an inevitable trend today. The renewable energy transition has had far-reaching effects, directly affecting the geopolitical relationship between countries. On the basis of assessing the effectsof the renewable energy transition and the issuesposed in this process, the article offers some notes for Vietnam in the process of  renewable energytransitionto implement the national Strategyofdevelopingenergy to 2030 and protect the independence and sovereignty of the Fatherland.
