Abstract: Since joining ASEAN in 1995, Vietnam has consistently contributed actively and responsibly to ASEAN's operations, which has been acknowledged and highly valued by member nations. The 13^thParty Congress reiterated the guiding principle of advancing and elevating multilateral foreign affairs, particularly in the ASEAN organization, in order to further advance Vietnam's position. The article clarifies the Party’s views at the 13th Congress on ASEAN cooperation and connection and offers suggestions to advance Vietnam's role.
