Abstract: From the perspective of culture - civilization, it can be said that the development of human society originates from the agricultural society to the industrial society and - in the future - to an urban society, regardless of socioeconomic status. From the perspective of culture - civilization, the article discusses the urban issues, analyzes the features of urban culture, the characteristics of the formation and development of Vietnamese urban areas in the historical process, and proposes recommendations from the practice of urbanization.
