Improving the Government’s crisis management capacity and implications for Vietnam

Abstract: The world is now facing critical problems such as natural and man-made disasters, terrorism, new pandemics, riots and violence, cyber security, etc., which increase the “fear factor” in people, making crisis management a top priority for governments. The article clarifies the concept of crisis and its complexity in the current context, explains the importance of crisis management, and analyzes the roles of governments and governmental activities in crisis management, thereby proposing suggestions for improving the Government’s crisis management capacity in Vietnam.
