Solutions to support tourism enterprises in Da Nang due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic

(LLCT) - The COVID-19 pandemic has seriously affected the global economy, especially the tourism industry. The outbreak of the second pandemic wave in Vietnam during the peak of the summer tourism season in Da Nang brought suspension of all tourism activities in the city, causing heavy economic damage to tourism businesses and services. Hence, it is essential to have proactive solutions in place to support businesses to overcome negative impacts and restore tourism activities to the city.

(LLCT) - In the recent years, the mobilization of people’s participation in the process of policy-making and implementation has been expanded and regulated by various legal documents (laws, ordinances...) in Vietnam. Based on the assessment of people’s participation in one specific field, especially in the land use planning according to the data of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Provincial Governance and Public Administration Performance Index in Vietnam from 2011 to present, the article proposes a number of recommendations to further promote the participation of people in policymaking and implementation.

(LLCT) - The Covid-19 pandemic has generated heavy losses in life and economy as well as political and social stability on a global scale. In the fight against the pandemic, in spite of numerous disadvantages, Vietnam has achieved many internationally recognized positive results. Together with other factors that have brought about those initial successes, political culture is a particularly important and significant cause, strongly influencing the consciousness and behavior of the people and the government in the pandemic prevention and combat. The analysis of four dimensions of political culture including individualism ands collectivism, power gap, degree of uncertainty avoidance, determination and flexibility has revealed cultural and political characteristics of Vietnam, contributing to the explanation of the pandemic prevention and combat results in Vietnam in the recent time.

(LLCT) - In implementation of the Party's resolutions on training and fostering leaders and managers, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics has made many renovations in designing the program, curriculum, and developing the teaching staff, teaching methods. Thus, initial quality and efficiency has been achieved. However, there have emerged some issues, particularly on the curriculum, textbooks, and teaching methods. In light of this, the article focuses on identifying and analyzing the four characteristics of the training and fostering program in the Party school system; at the same time, points out the need for renewing the current teaching methods in the Party school system.

Those transformations have created a diverse and complex religious mosaic in ethnic minority areas in Vietnam, posing a multitude of concerns in ethnic and religious affairs.

(LLCT) - Over the past 10 years, the quantity and quality of female cadres participating in leadership and management have increased. The percentage of women participating in the Politburo, the Party Central Committee has increased over the last three tenures, while the percentage of women in the National Assembly has started to rise as well. However, in some areas, the increased proportion of women’s leadership is not stable. This article points out some basic causes of this limitation: awareness of the women’s role and the work on female cadres; implementation of the policy on female cadres; the planning, training, retraining and employment of female cadres and difficulties directly related to them. Then the article proposes a number of solutions to promote women’s political leadership in the new period.

In the fight of all countries against the COVID-19 pandemic, which took place from the beginning of 2020 until now, many problems have emerged in all fields of national and international life. From the perspective of political science, there are lessons about the political responsibility of countries’ leaders on constructing a global regime, multilateralism and cooperation among nations, and building national visibility and status on the international arena. These lessons are drawn from practice and capable of providing arguments for policy-makers to refer to.
