Nguyen Chi Dung: Implementation of human rights and national self-determination right in current situation
From the concept, connotation and nature of human rights and the right to national self-determination, the article makes clear the relationship between the two rights in the history of human development. The various conditions, circumstances and stages of development will have different workarounds. In the context of development of the knowledge economy and globalization, human rights are considered more universal. However, in Vietnam today, it is necessary to consider the level of development and identify the traditional cultural specificity in addressing the relationship between human rights and citizenship, ensuring the national independence, democracy, peace, stability and sustainable development.

Social oversight and criticism of the press are highly concerned issues to the public and the whole society. In realities, the press has gradually proven its capability of, and impact on the issue. However, to date, there has been no complete research on public awareness and attitude on the issue. The article partly fills the vacant by publicizing results and initial analysis of the survey on the public’s concerns on social oversight and criticism of the press.
