Mach Quang Thang: Highlights of the ruling Communist Party’s roles in Ho Chi Minh Thought

It is necessary to be aware of the role of the Communist Party of Vietnam in Ho Chi Minh Thought on a new mindset. That role is more important in the current and future Vietnam revolutionary period - the context of globalization and international integration, the country’s industrialization and

modernization as well as the fourth industrial revolution. The CPV has been showing its role in its guidelines, policies and acting as unique party in the society - the ruling Party.

Nguyen Phu Loi: Marxist - Leninist viewpoints on the religion - economics relations

The relationship between religion and economics is a fundamental part of the Marxist - Leninist view of religion. That is: religion has its origin in the economy and the life of material production; the existence or transformation of religion is determined by the socio-economic life. Religion is a mechanism that conceals the relationships of real social life. When the mode of production changes, the science develops, the material life and the level of human cognition advances will make religious decline and eventually disappear, but it is a long and complex process. On the other hand, as a part of superstructure, religion also has an impact on subtructure, including economic life.

The Communist Party of Vietnam has always attached importance to building and promoting the working class in the cause of national construction and defense. In the acceleration of national industrialization, modernization and international integration, Vietnamese working class has leveled up both in quality and quantity. However, there still exist issues of employment, working environment and livelihoods for workers. Therefore, it is the responsibilities of not only the Party and State but also the workers themselves to build a strongly developed working class.

In the national industrialization and modernization combined with the development of knowledge economy and international integration, Vietnamese working class has gradually gained the important and decisive position. However, the development of Vietnamese working class has yet to meet demands; especially the issue of skilled workers is slowing down the development pace. That leads to the urgent demand of identifying solutions to develop the pool of skilled workers for the national cause of industrialization and modernization.

Nguyen Van Dzung: Journalists and the issue of social supervision and social criticism

Social supervision and social criticism can be conducted through the press and communication to control power and complete public policy. The article clarified the perception, opinion of journalists and the public on the issue of social supervision and social criticism. The findings are from the four-province survey through Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Quang Ninh with over 900 samples of the public and 600 samples of journalists.
